This page provides essential information about graduation eligibility, the review process, and degree classification at VinUni. Please plan ahead to ensure you meet all requirements on time.
Graduation Eligibility Criteria
To be awarded a bachelor’s degree from VinUniversity, students must meet all the following conditions:
- Complete the minimum credit requirement within the designated study period of the program.
- Fulfill General Education/VinCore and English language proficiency requirements.
- Complete all major-specific course requirements defined by your College.
- Resolve any “I – Incomplete” grades for required courses.
- Earn a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.00/4.00.
- Not be found guilty of any criminal offense up to the time of graduation.
- Satisfy all other applicable University requirements and regulations.
📌 If a student fails to meet all graduation conditions during their intended semester, they must re-apply in a future graduation review period.
Graduation Timeline & Process
- Application for Graduation: Students are invited to submit their graduation application around April each academic year.
- Final Semester Planning: Students should prioritize required courses in their last semester and reserve time for their Capstone Project or Thesis.
- Graduation Review: Final reviews and decisions typically take place in August.
- Degree Conferral & Diploma: Diplomas are usually issued in September after the printing and verification process.
What Happens After Graduation Review?
Once your graduation eligibility is confirmed by the Graduation Review Board:
- You may request a Graduation Confirmation Letter for use in school applications or visa purposes.
- After the official Graduation Decision is issued by the Provost, you will be eligible to receive a Provisional Degree Certificate.
- The official diploma and final transcript will be available approximately one month after the decision, once printing and verification are complete.
Students are encouraged to plan ahead if they need documents for deadlines related to jobs, graduate study, or international travel.
Classification of Awards
VinUni awards bachelor’s degrees based on final GPA, according to Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) regulations.

| Very Good | 3.20 – 3.59 |
| Good | 2.50 – 3.19 |
| Marginal | 2.00 – 2.49 |
Graduation Review Board
The Graduation Review Board is chaired by the Provost (or designee), with members including:
- Vice Provost of Academic Affairs
- Vice Provost of Academic Administration
- Dean/Vice Dean/Program Directors of Colleges
- Registrar’s Office
- Student Affairs Management
The Board makes recommendations on student eligibility for graduation, and the Provost signs the final decision.
